              History

              FOUR GENERATIONS OF BUILDING TRADITION.  In 1945, a Russian immigrant named Samuel Goldman, a modest bricklayer and carpenter, built his first custom home in Toronto with his eldest son Murray. Throughout the 50s and 60s, Murray worked hand in hand with his father, learning the craft of building and the creative redevelopment of neighbourhoods. These small but significant steps would develop into a trusted and respected building tradition, six decades, four generations and several continents strong.

              Gary Goldman, Chairman and CEO of Stafford, joined his father Murray in the early 80s after successful careers in both brokerage and financial services. Under his leadership Stafford has built several thousand homes and commercial properties. During his thirty plus year history of residential and commercial construction Stafford has become the diversified group of companies that it is today.

              Jonathan Goldman, President of Stafford, has been working alongside his father Gary since the mid 90’s. He started his career as an investment agent for an international Real Estate brokerage company and subsequently built and sold a large renewable energy development firm prior to rejoining Stafford and partnering with his father.

              The Goldmans have won many design awards over the years for their excellence in design and construction. Stafford and The Goldman Group have long since been recognized as leaders in urban renewal with such high profile projects as The SkyLofts, Film District Towns, Castle Hill, The Ports, The Brownstones of Soho, The Bell Estate, Forest Hill Lofts, and The Picasso to name just a few.
